Chantelle's test page: Click and Study

This is chantelle's test page

What is the Click and Study service?

We are now offering a small number of bookable individual study spaces in the Library, to allow you to come in and study.
During the COVID-19 pandemic we need to keep this service very limited, to make sure that you will be safe, and that Library staff who are working on site are also safe.

How does the Click and Study service work?

•    We will only be offering this service when Library staff are present. For this reason, the hours will be from 0930 to 1630 from Monday to Friday – not including Bank Holidays, when we will be closed.
•    When you book a table, it will be yours for the whole day. You can arrive and leave at any time – and can go outside for a break, if you wish, but the table is yours for the day – no-one else will be able to use it.
•    Only one person can use a table – even if you are living together or are part of the same social bubble.
•    You will not be able to move to a different table.
•   If you want refreshments, you will need to bring your own, or use the snack machines in the lower Atrium, by Security. No other catering facilities are available on site.
•    You must book the table in advance – do not come to campus if you have not booked a table.
•    In order to make it possible to stick to social distancing guidelines, you will not be able to bring your children with you.

Will I be able to use the Library as normal?

The service we are offering has changed – you may find it a little strange at first.
There are several things that are different, to allow us to give you this limited access to the Library while also keeping you and our staff safe.
•    You will need to bring your own pen and paper – we cannot share our stationery with you
•    If you want to listen to any videos or recordings you will need to bring your own headphones
•    If you have any queries about finding information, writing your references or using the Library you will need to use our email or online chat services – we cannot support you with an enquiry service in person
•    If you want to borrow any books you will have to order them and book a collection slot using our Click and Collect service
•    You cannot browse the shelves or consult books in the Library if they have not been issued to you
•    If you have booked a table without a computer and want to use a Library laptop for the day, we have a small number of laptops that may be available – book one using the Click and Collect service before you come to Campus

Do I have to wear a face covering?

•    If you are using public transport to get to campus you will need to wear a face covering
•    If you wish to wear a face covering whilst you are studying in the Library, you may do so– but you do not need to as effective social distancing measures are in place

How do I book?

•    Follow the ‘Click and Study’ link
•    You will be asked for your personal details
•    You will be asked to choose a date, and the type of individual study space you wish to use
•    Bookings will be made on a first come, first served basis

When you arrive…

•    Enter through the Main University entrance, by the Reception desk. (You will need your ID card with you to open the door, using the sensor to the left of the door)
•    Enter the Library by the usual entrance
•    Hand sanitiser is available as you enter the University, and by the Library entrance
•    Tell staff at the Library Service Desk that you have arrived, and they will direct you to your table

Privacy information:

The information we collect about your visit will be collected and used in line with the practice outlined in the University’s privacy notices for students or staff.
In addition, for up to three weeks following your visit, we will pass details of your visit to the NHS Test and Trace service, if we are required to.

Why would you share my details with NHS Test and Trace?

The UK is currently experiencing a public health emergency as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It is therefore critical that organisations take a range of measures to keep everyone safe.
The easing of social and economic lockdown measures following the COVID-19 outbreak is being supported by NHS Test and Trace. The Department of Health and Social Care has asked organisations, including libraries, to support this service by keeping a temporary record of our visitors for 21 days. In the event of a local outbreak of the virus this data may be used to assist NHS Test and Trace as needed. This could help contain clusters or outbreaks.

What if I object to my details being shared with NHS Test and Trace?

Although it is important for the authorities to be able to track and trace contacts of people who may be infected with the COVID-19 virus, you do not have to participate.
The Department for Health and Social Care are clear that this is a voluntary scheme and nobody visiting our premises is required to provide their details for this purpose.  If you do not want any booking details you have supplied to be used for Test and Trace purposes please make this clear to a member of staff at the time of your visit
We will keep a record of anyone who does not want their details passed on, which we will destroy after three weeks.
