How to create links in Moodle to resources from Newman University Library

When you link to a Cambridge Companions e-book, the default link takes you to the first page in the e-book. However, you can also to link to a specific chapter within the e-book.

How do I link to the Cambridge Companions from Moodle?

Step 1

Search the library catalogue for the e-book you want to link to.

Step 2

Click on the title of the item you want to link to

Step 3

Copy the link by right clicking 'Connect to e-book' and selecting 'Copy link address' (as shown below).

Step 4

Paste the link in the required destination e.g. Moodle. Don't paste the link in to MS Word as it won't work - if you need to paste it somewhere temporary, use Notepad. 

The URL should look like this:

http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/CCOL0521660165

Step 1

Search the library catalogue for the item you want to link to.

Step 2

Connect to the e-book, and find the chapter you want to link to. 

Step 3

Click on the chapter title to view the chapter details page.

Step 4

On the chapter details page, right click on the URL address bar and select 'Copy' (see example below).

Step 5
