The Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) represents all university libraries in the UK and Ireland, irrespective of mission group, as well as national libraries and many libraries with collections of national significance.
Birmingham Newman's membership within SCONUL allows our students and staff to access other libraries within the society. It also allows for members of other institutions to use our library.
If you are a member of the SCONUL Access Scheme from another institution and would like to visit Birmingham Newman University library, we ask that you submit a membership form prior to visiting us. Once we have received your completed form and supporting documents, we will process your new account. You will receive an email from us when your library card is ready to collect.
If you would rather complete an application form in person, please visit us between 9am and 4pm on Monday to Friday, making sure you bring ID from your home institution and a copy of your acceptance email onto the Scheme.
Your borrowing rights are based on the category of membership you have been given by SCONUL. You will be able to find this information on the email or letter you received when you signed up to the Scheme.
