The Library has some exciting news - we are replacing our old library catalogue with a brand new searching tool! This means that finding books and journals will look a little different, but it will be a much easier and more intuitive process. We hope you love it as much as we do!
The live date for Library Search is Wednesday 3rd August 2022. From this date, you will find a Library Search box on the Library Homepage and you will be able to use the box for finding books and articles straight away. Please note, you will need to stop using the old Library catalogue for literature searching from this date onwards.
We decided that it was time to refresh our old catalogue - we had used the same system for 30 years but feel it's time to step into the future. Our new system, Library Search, is a form of "discovery tool" that enables much more powerful and effective searching and is more user-friendly.
Whilst implementing Library Search, we have taken the opportunity to review our circulation policies. In non-librarian speak, we have updated our rules around borrowing books. We believe that the new policies will increase availability of print books for everyone and you will receive fewer library fines and blocks. More detail about this can be found on the "Info for Students" and "Info for Staff" pages of this guide.
