There are computers on levels 0, 1 and 2 of the Library that you can use, subject to availability. No booking necessary - just turn up! You will need your IT Services username and password to log on.
We also have loanable laptops that you can borrow from the cabinet on Level 1 that you can use on campus for up to 4 hours.
You can use Library Search on any computer or personal device with an Internet connection. However on each level of the Library there are a couple of computers that you can use only to access Library Search.
All of the Library is a Wi-Fi zone where Birmingham Newman staff and students can connect laptops, tablets, phones and other wireless devices to the University’s internet.
You will need to connect to Eduroam. If you are having difficulty after following the guide at the link, please visit the IT Service Desk for further help.
If you’re a guest or visitor with an eduroam account, you can connect your devices as usual.
If you’re a guest or visitor without access to eduroam, you can connect to the University's Public Wi-Fi service.
Please note: External members of Birmingham Newman University Library and visitors do not have access to the computers, electronic networks or electronic resources belonging to or licensed to Birmingham Newman University.
Computers, photocopying and printing are looked after by IT Services: email itservicedesk@newman.ac.uk or phone them on 0121 483 2293. You can also visit the IT Service Desk during staffed hours. For more information, check their page on the University Self-Service Portal.
